-The start of this trip is a visit to Curepipe, the second largest city in Mauritius. The main attraction found there is Trou Aux Cerfs, a dormant volcano, 650 meters above sea level. It is 100 meters deep and surrounded by greenery. After admiring the gorgeous views, our next stop is the boat factory in Curepipe itself. There, you will get to see the craft of many boat models that are handmade with teak wood that originate from Burma.
-From Curepipe, our next stop is Bois Cheri Tea factory. It was founded in 1892 and it is one of the oldest factory in the country. There, we will have the opportunity to have a look at the sorting rooms and see the production and packaging of tea. Then, we will have the pleasure of tea tasting in the restaurant of the tea estate which overlooks the tea plantation. We can taste all the types and flavours of tea that the Bois Cheri Tea factory has to offer.
-After a pleasant break at the tea estate, our next stop is the sacred Hindu lake found in Grand Bassin. There, we will visit several different temples with many Hindu Gods. While enjoying the beautiful surrounding views, you can also spot many local monkeys and feed them.
-After that, the fourth stop is the glorious Gorges viewpoint which is located in the Black River National Park. The park protects most of the island's remaining rainforest . Many local businesses are found there. They mainly sell magnets, cashmere, pearls, carved masks of gods, dodo bird statues and fresh fruits, which you can buy at affordable prices.
-Next stop is Chamarel Waterfalls in Chamarel which offer stunning views over 100 meters that we can admire from two platforms. There, we will end the visit at Chamarel 7 Coloured Earths. The 7 coloured earths are believed to be a consequence of the molten volcanic rock cooling down at different external temperatures and its variety of coloring depend on the content of iron and minerals.
After this sight-seeing, we will indulge in the local surrounding of Arabica coffee plantation which is grown only in this part of the island.
Return to the hotel is planned at 16:00.
